Born in Knesebeck, his professional roots lie with BUTTING. Here he launched his professional career in 1994 by training as an industrial management assistant for a shortened period of two years, and after a further year and parallel activities in what was then the Export Sales department, he graduated with a degree in Business Administration.

As a result of his good performance, he then received a scholarship from BUTTING for a full-time, higher-level course in Business Studies with the emphasis on Controlling, at the North-east Lower Saxony University of Applied Science in Lüneburg. He completed this successfully in 1999, coming top in his year, and that April he resumed his work for BUTTING.

Since 2000 he has been working in what was then the Cost Accounting department, and has made a crucial contribution to the construction and expansion of the Controlling department at BUTTING, since 2003 as its Head. At the same time he was contributing significantly to the development and implementation of a variety of internal projects in the fields of production planning and control, and in sales and materials management.

In addition, from 2000 to 2003 he was a member of the project core team to select company-wide ERP software. For the last five years he has given vital support in different roles to the BUS project for introducing SAP at BUTTING, including in the areas of project management and process integration, with the goal of analysing and optimising business processes.

In his new position as a director, he will in future be responsible for large parts of the services area. Up to now, this sector was under the sole control of Hermann Butting, who now would like to devote more energy to the BUTTING Group. As before, Dr Rommerskirchen remains the director in charge of sales, purchasing and quality assurance and Thomas Schüller remains responsible for the field of production.

Dirk Meinecke is looking forward to the challenges which will accompany his new role: “I look on my new responsibilities as Managing Director in charge of services with great respect and great ambition. As internal suppliers to the company, we will, among other things, use lean business processes to make our contribution towards finding a way out of the crisis, and thus ensuring competitive structures in Knesebeck in the long term.”
