BUTTING in China

To do entrepreneurial justice to the dynamic Chinese market, BUTTING has been represented in China since 2004. With this step we aimed to accompany our long-standing customers from the chemicals, food and shipbuilding sectors in this growth market. At the same time, our aim was to convince up-and-coming Chinese companies about the high quality of pipes “made in Knesebeck”.

First, BUTTING set up a sales office in the heart of Shanghai. As early as the autumn of 2005, the demand for prefabricated stainless steel products led us to use a manufacturing plant in Jiading, on the outskirts of Shanghai, for pipe manufacturing and individual production for customers. Our pipe depot for the immediate needs of our Chinese customers is also located there.

The basis of our success lies in our quality products which are supplied from Knesebeck directly to Jiading and then further processed on the spot. Another important factor is our well-trained staff: in addition to some employees from Knesebeck with long years of experience, BUTTING Shanghai already employs more than 100 Chinese staff.

To give more support to our team in China, in 2008 we opened an additional sales office in Hong Kong. This aims principally to provide more direct assistance to customers from Vietnam, Malaysia and Taiwan.
