BUTTING song”In keeping with man and nature – BUTTING in Knesebeck”. This drawing by the artist Horst Louis Weber shows nicely what is meant by this. Horst Louis Weber was born in Berlin in 1913. In 1950 a public school was first opened in Hankensbüttel, which was turned into a grammar school later, where he started to teach art. He also taught art at Gifhorn grammar school. He was devoted to his job and he held his position as a teacher for 27 years. At the beginning of the sixties, Dr Hannshermann Butting and Horst Louis Weber met personally and the artist was asked to make an illustration of a record sleeve including the diligent BUTTING-dwarves. This was the start of a personal relationship between the two which lasted for many years.
The song was composed by Parlow-Bähr, written by K.G. Breuer, sung by the ”Westfälischen Nachtigallen” and conducted by Dieter Hahn.
